Questions about quota forecasting

What is pipeline coverage and why does it matter?

Pipeline coverage is how much pipeline you have relative to your remaining quota gap. 3x coverage is the standard - meaning you need $300K in pipeline to close $100K. Below 2x and you are likely to miss unless your win rate is unusually high.

How is the hit probability calculated?

The probability estimate is based on two factors: your pipeline coverage ratio (how much pipeline relative to your gap) and your run rate (how you are trending based on past performance). It is a simplified model - real forecast accuracy depends on deal quality, not just quantity.

What should I do if my required weekly close rate looks too high?

First, add more pipeline. The required close rate drops as pipeline grows. Second, look for acceleration opportunities - deals close to decision, proposals outstanding, champions who have gone quiet. Third, review your qualification and make sure your pipeline is real.
